Search Entries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. Illinois Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. When a visitor registers directly with Illinois VINE, state law protects the registrant's name, contact information, PIN, and email address; that data remains with the VINE system, not this site.
Messages You Send
Email and contact submissions are retained as needed to answer the message. They are not shared beyond the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data Collected
Standard server, analytics, and advertising systems can collect the following details when a page loads:
- Your Internet Protocol address.
- The browser name and version.
- The device class and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on them.
- The referring website, when supplied.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies help show how visitors use the site. A browser can reject or remove them, though blocking cookies may change how some features work.

Links lead to sheriff rosters, IDOC, courts, federal locators, county sites, and outside search tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms control.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select ads. Their collection does not occur on systems controlled by Illinois Released Inmates.

Personal information is not sold. Limited data may be handled by:
- Search partners that process submitted queries.

- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Security Practices
Reasonable technical and operational safeguards are used. No service connected to the internet can promise perfect security, so Illinois Released Inmates cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian may use the Contacts page to request deletion if a minor submitted information.
